PA medical billing software is capable of producing a "276" claim status inquiry file, and we have acquired HIPAA Certification for this transaction. PA will automatically transmit status inquiry files for all claims to those payers capable of processing a 276 status inquiry transaction and returning a "277" claim status response.
Our patent pending claim status inquiry engine is so effective that it truly does allow you to ignore claims for these payers until such time as PA alerts you about problems. If a payer reports a claim as not received, PA will automatically retransmit that claim. In addition, we continue to follow even those claims that the payer reports as paid, and will flag a claim for attention if no payment is posted to it within three weeks of the payers' status response of "paid".
