Get ready for new code updates…

The new 2018 ICD-10-CM codes are to be used for discharges occurring from Oct. 1, 2017 through Sept. 30, 2018, and for patient encounters occurring from Oct. 1, 2017 through Sept. 30, 2018. In this year’s new code set there are 363 new codes, 142 deletions, and 226 code revisions. As always all code updates are included in your monthly fee, there is no file that you will need to upload, so all you need to do is sit back and get ready to bill!

Code Change Highlights

New codes under Endocrine, Nutritional, and Metabolic Diseases (E00-E89), for Type 2 diabetes.
New classifications under Mental, Behavioral and Neurodevelopmental disorders (F01-F99) for Alcohol, Opioid and Cannabis dependence.
Code revisions and added specificity under Diseases of the eye (H00-H59)
Code revisions under Diseases of the circulatory system (I00-I99) including Hypertensive heart disease.

You can see the full list of changes here.

Reminder, if you have any ICD-10 code changes on your encounter form/superbill you can send your revised form to the support department for upload at no additional cost.
